  • What if something is out of stock?
We will always be tying flies, if something is out of stock, send us an email and we will get you your flies as soon as possible! For all other merchandise such as clothing or hats, if something is out of stock, we've most likely run out of product. Contact us and we will let you know if the item is expected back in stock.
  • Why should I order from Tailout Flies?
Whether it's fly fishing, tying, or just enjoying the outdoors, you won't find anyone as passionate as we are. We pride ourselves on quality and attention to detail every waking hour. From our merchandise to our hand tied flies, you are getting a top quality product.
  • Where do you get tying materials?
For tying materials we only use the top manufacturers for tying products. Hareline who has the most expansive catalogue in all categories is our main source of goods. We also work with Hook & Hackle who are one of the main distributors in Canada for Wapsi, Umpqua, and Whiting Farms products. If you have a request for a certain product tied in a fly, please let us know and we can help you get your flies perfect!
  • What kind of hooks do you use?
Being a fly company, we use certain hooks for different applications. You won't be getting a dry fly on a streamer hook and you definitely won't be getting a Bonefish fly on a dry fly hook. Jokes aside, we try and utilize barbless hooks whenever possible to reduce fish mortality and preserve the fisheries we all care about so much. For certain fisheries such as saltwater destinations, it's nearly impossible to find barbless saltwater hooks so we highly recommend pinching your barbs. Hooks you'll see us using are Firehole, Ahrex, Kona, Tiemco, Umpqua, and Gamakatsu. If there are certain hooks you would like used in an order, send us a message and we will help you get the flies you need!
