Welcome to Tailout Flies

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

Since I first learned the art of fly fishing at the age of 11 in Yellowstone, it has been an insatiable passion ever since. Under the watchful eye of Bob Jacklin, I began to cast. I never thought that 13 years later, that name would mean so much to me. I'm sure if I were to see him now he would have no recollection of some young kid from Canada.

There are too many people I'd like to thank along the way. Ben Zander and Pacific Fly Fishers for everything they've taught me along the way and for the never ending adventures. CrossCurrents and Billy Hancock in Helena, Montana for also fueling the desire to be on the vise or the river when not playing hockey. Doug and Graham Hurst for having a third seat on the boat, their selflessness and laughs on the river. If it wasn't for you guys, I wouldn't be creating this website so thank you. Lastly, I would like to thank everyone at Iron Bow for the opportunity to be immersed in every aspect and the chance to live out our dream. Thank you for your continued support.
